UK mobile broadband providers look forward to Apple iPad 2 launch

UK mobile operators Orange and T-Mobile confirmed their plans to sell the new Apple iPad 2 through their stores, when the popular internet tablet gets released in the UK at the end of this month.

Apple’s magical device iPad 2, seemingly thinner and more compact than its predecessor gets released nearly a year after iPad’s launch.

The latest internet tablet device comes with a dual core processor, new iOS 4.3 operating system and front and back cameras.

Like iPad, the iPad 2 also comes in three memory sizes – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which will affect the product pricing.

When it comes to consumer prices, there will not be any changes between iPad and iPad 2, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs said in San Francisco yesterday.

Apple iPad which is considered an expensive gadget in current pricing by many mobile broadband customers in the UK, also faces competition, especially with Samsung Galaxy in global internet tablet market.

While the 3G enabled iPad device cost from £429 in Apple stores, UK mobile operators also offer the device with an upfront fee of £200 on a 24 month mobile broadband contract.

Meanwhile, O2 announced that it has no plans to sell iPad 2 with subsidy, although it will offer microSIM data plans to the iPad 2 users.
