Apple to find the cause of iPhone explosions

Apple described the recent media reports of its iPhones exploding in UK and France as isolated incidents, however, the company will be seeking the full details from the customers, according to a spokeswoman for the EU executive.

Helen Kearns at EU executive said:

“Apple have come back to us … and what they’ve said to us is that they consider these are isolated incidents. They don’t consider that there’s a general problem,”

“They’re trying to get more information on the specific details of those incidents (reported in the media) and they will do tests as necessary to investigate the possible cause,”

In France, a teenager was slighly injured when her iPhone shattered after making a hissing noise. A iPod Touch was also reported to have exploded in UK by its owner.

Apple said it has been taking note of these incidents though it has described them as isloated problems.
