Orange Mobile UK sell 30k iPhones on launch day
UK mobile operator, Orange had a record first day sales of over 30,000 Apple iPhones, despite the tight pricing by the provider and the limited usage allowance of just 750MB per month on the users.
The largest 3G network provider in UK, Orange started selling iPhones for its UK customers from 10 November (Details). To make things hard for Orange, O2 mobile UK, its main competitor also announced free home broadband offer for its iPhone customers, on the same day.
Latest sales figures of Orange iPhones should be encouraging for Orange which has recently signed a final agreement with T-mobile for a merger of these two big UK mobile operators.

Conor Maples, a member in the comms team at Orange UK says that 750MB cap on the usage is indeed generous as he commented via Twitter, “We have had iPhone in other European countries for a while now & research shows the average user uses less than 200mb per month,”
Orange Mobile UK currently has over 402 stores in UK where its customers can get iPhones.
Orange has over 16.11 million UK mobile customers while its ADSL fixed line broadband customers in UK are estimated to be over 900,000
