Spotify approved to stream music on Apple iPhones

Spotifiy, the UK music streaming service was approved to stream music to Apple iPhone users. Apple iPhone customers who have subscribed to premium Spotify Music for £10 can access the new service on their handsets, it was reported. Spotify had applied to Apple iTunes App Store for approval a month ago.

Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify told BBC News:

“We’re not surprised but we’re thrilled. We had a great dialogue with Apple from day one.”

Spotify premium service offers music without adverts on computers and the new app for Apple iPhones will allow iPhone users to store and stream playlists. The new deal with Apple would increase the number of premium subscribers, Daniel Ek said.

Spotify Music service was launched a year ago. There are over 2 million Spotify customers in the UK while the company has more than 6 million customers in Europe.
