New video streaming service from Virgin Media is now available for broadband and wireless internet users in the UK.
Virgin TV Anywhere can be accessed free of cost by Virgin’s cable TV customers on selected mobile devices like iPad, iPhone and iPod. The company is likely to support other smartphones including android devices with a new app in 2013.
One customer will be allowed to register up to two devices to access the new service.
The cable operator has initially offered to stream 45 channels and on-demand videos from popular channels from Sky sports and Sky movies. The service will also stream content from ITV, BBC and 4oD.
“Virgin TV Anywhere builds upon our fantastic TV service, blending in the best of TiVo and our expertise in broadband and mobile, to bring customers a compelling entertainment experience to enjoy whenever they want, wherever they are – all at no extra cost.” said Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media.
