BT Vision is an exclusive digital TV service, offering a wide range of programmes from music to movies, from kids shows to sports events for the BT Total broadband customers. With your BT broadband or broadband and phone bundle, you can just add BT Vision with no connection or installation charges.
BT Vision+ box, which usually costs £194.76, is FREE, as long as you are with BT on a minimum 12 month contract.
How to get BT Vision?
If you are a new customer, you will need to subscribe to BT total broadband on a minimum 12 month contract (starting price: £14.99 per month)
However, if you opt for a BT broadband bundle (from £30.98 per month), you will need to sign a 18 month contract.
BT’s TV Value packs which come with your packages offer you a selection of programmes, shows and events from sports, kids and entertainment and other categories.
All this would cost around minimum £45, including the line rental.
BT Vision TV Programmes
BT Vision offers both Free view channels and some of the selected on-demand video contents. Free view contents are currently available for nearly 90% of the UK homes and BT would extend it to 99% once the digital switchcover gets completed. You will need an aerial to receive Freeview signals.
If you want to watch additional on-demand contents, you will need to choose a pay monthly subscription or a pay as you go option (pay per show).
BT Vision Value Packs
BT Vision offers three Value packs – Bronze, Silver and Gold with monthly subscription starting from £13.70. The packs allow you to watch hundreds of music videos, kid shows, Premier League and Carling Cup games and on-demand movies under different categories (kids, movies, music and sports).
You can also access to ESPN Sports, when you pay an extra £9.78 (one-off fee, though) with your Value pack. You can watch live live Premier League matches and other European football and rugby events on your ESPN channel.
As for the contents, Bronze Value pack lets you to choose two categories for £14.68 while Silvers allows you to watch contents from three categories.
With Gold pack, you can watch the programmes from all four categorires.
If you want to watch movies on pay per movie basis, you can choose the latest blockbuster or an older movie from the library and it would cost around £2 per movie. However, high-definition movies and newer films can cost up to £5 per movie.
Single Packs
You can also choose from the individual packs like Picture Box (movies), TV Pack, TV replay, music, kids, sports and bolly & beyond with price range between £4.99 and £6.99. Like Value pack, you can add ESPN to any individual pack with a one-off fee of £9.99.
What is Vision+ box?
Recently, BT launched the new, improved, black Vision+ box which can save power too. It is a set-top box that comes with following features:
- Larger storage: The new 160GB hard drive helps you to store up to 80 hours of TV programmes
- While watching live Freeview contents, you can also pause and rewind.
- You can also store two events simultaneously.
