BT 100Mbps broadband to reach more apartment residents
BT has revealed its plans to expand its fibre optic coverage to offer its 100Mbps broadband to those living in apartments.
The internet service provider is deploying fibre broadband to connect the buildings in West India Quay, Canary Riverside and Port East in the Isle of Dogs (East London).
Now, the broadband supplier has announced that it would add to the project another 1,000 buildings which can access its superfast broadband network.
There is growing demand for super-fast broadband in apartments, says BT.
“Through our registration scheme customers are clearly showing us they now seek these higher speeds and see the provision of super-fast broadband as a significant benefit.” said Mike Galvin, BTOpenreach’s Managing Director for Next Generation Access.
BT’s fibre deployment for apartments is likely to start in a couple of months while the registration process for the residents and landlords is currently underway.
