Broadband provider BT has announced the prices for its latest, superfast broadband products – Infinity Option 1 and Infinity Option 2. To be launched tomorrow (25 January), the new service will offer 40Mbps download speed to the subscribers using BT’s fibre broadband network (Fttc).

BT Infinity Option 1, which is priced at £19.99 per month on a 18 month contract, will provide 40Mb download speed, 20GB monthly download limit, 2Mbps upload speed, free BT Home Hub wireless router and 250 wi-f- minutes. There will be an extra £50 one-off connection fee and the BT line rental.

BT Infinity Option 2 will offer higher upload speed of 10Mbps, unlimited downloads, FREE connection and unlimited wi-fi access for £24.99 per month on a 18 month contract.

The ISP would slow down the speeds of the P2P users during peak hours i.e., 4pm – 12midnight during the weekdays, and 9am – 12midnight at the weekend, it was reported.

The fibre to the cabinet (Fttc) broadband network of BT will bring 40Mbps faster speeds to more than 4 million UK households and businesses by the end of 2010 and will enable 40% of UK homes to get superfast broadband access by the spring in 2012.
