New BT Vision +Box set-top box comes with improved quality and design

BT has launched a new, shiny, black Vision+ box for its on-demand Digital TV customers. The improved set-top box also consumes 12 % less energy, it was stated.

BT Vision is an online TV service for BT Total broadband customers who can watch thousands of movies, TV shows, kid shows and sports channels by susbcribing to one of the Value packs.

Existing BT broadband customers can subcribe to BT Vision with a monthly fee starting from £7.50. New BT Vision customers will also get the Vision+ Box absolutely free. The special offer is available till 15 January 2010.

New set-top box comes with some extra features such as the built-in 160GB size hard drive which allows the users to record the shows and watch them later.

Marc Watson, the Chief Executive of BT Vision, said:

“We are always looking at ways in which we can improve BT Vision. The new BT Vision+ box is not only better looking, it also consumes less energy, something that we know is extremely important to our customers”.

Watching movies and TV shows online requires a broadband connection with decent speeds and sufficient monthly usage allowance as a single DVD movie would consume more than two GBs while streaming or downloading.
