Zen Internet to launch 40Mbps fibre optic broadband
Zen Internet subscribers can get access to super-fast speeds of 40Mbps from this September. The new service will connect Zen customers to BT’s fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) networks to get as much as twice the current speeds. more »
UK broadband penetration rises just 1.4 percent in 2009
Broadband uptake in UK has become slower in the last two years, the latest European Commission report shows. The annual growth rate has slipped from 2.7% in 2008 to 1.4% in January 2010, according to its latest annual report on the Single European Electronic Communications Market.
However, the UK Broadband penetration still continues its upward journey, climbing from 28.4% in January 2009 to 29.8% in January 2010 which was still higher than the EU average of 24.8%. more »
