Hull Area to get 100Mbps fibre broadband

People in the Hull area would get access to 100Mbps, fibre based broadband or what is called the next generation broadband. Fibrestream, a technology and communication solution provider has teamed up with NextGenUs to deploy FTTH (fibre line broadband) in the Hull area and other rural areas in the UK.

About 1000 residents living in the Great Thornton Street Estate in Hull, will get fibre broadband connections in the first phase. Once the roll-out gets the enough backing from EU, the fibre broadband network (FiWI) will be extended to more than 5000 residents, covering all the areas in Great Thornton St Estate and even beyond Hull area, it was reported.

Broadband providers will take up the new service from Fibrestream on wholesale basis and would sell the connections or provide digital TV services to the customers.

Currently, in the Hull area, the broadband internet connections are supplied by Karoo (KCom) provider and there is no other service provider for the people here to look upon. The new service will not only offer better broadband service but will also help the people in Hull to get an additional broadband service.

A few days ago, the sole provider of this area, Karoo has cut off the broadband internet connections of its customers who were allegedly sharing copy righted files illegally. The way with which the ISP suspended the customers’ services without giving any warnings shocked many customers here. Later, Karoo has agreed to send warnings to the suspected customers before taking any kind of action.
