Deltenna launch WiBE mobile broadband device to boost speeds
Deltenna, a UK broadband start-up, has rolled out a new device that can offer connection speeds of around 2Mbps to mobile broadband users.
The Wireless Broadband Enabler (WiBE) comes with a built-in 3G modem that can support speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. The embedded powerful antenna feature will offer better speeds in a location, when compared to USB modem stick, by enhancing the signal strength even in low signal areas, the firm claims.
Tests on the new gadget in rural areas showed an average of 2.8Mbps speeds, the company has reported.
Many rural areas do not have access to basic broadband speeds of up to 2Mbps. The WiBE will bring broadband to the people who live in regions that do not have DSL broadband lines in a cost-effective way, according to Andrew Fox, chief executive officer of Deltenna.

The portable device measures 18cm x13cm and also allows multiple wi-fi enabled devices to connect and share a mobile broadband internet connection.
