O2 launches faster mobile broadband using 900MHz spectrum
O2 Telefonica (O2 UK) becomes the first operator in the UK to use 900MHz spectrum band for 3G mobile broadband services (3G900).
The low frequency spectrum (900MHz) is currently used for mobile phone and SMS services (2G/GSM/GPRS) and however, the band was liberalised by the regulator Ofcom for the use of mobile data services in early 2011. more »

Gigaclear to launch 1Gbps broadband in Thames Valley
Fibre optic network provider Gigaclear will soon launch its 1Gbps service in Thames Valley.
During the rollout, the company could use duct, pole and passive infrastructure from other suppliers in addition to their own ducts, said UK broadband regulator Ofcom, giving its approval for its fibre deployment plans. more »
