The Cloud’s Wi-Fi network will offer 15 minutes free access per day to internet users within the Square Mile of London.

New Virgin Media XL broadband service to offer 30Mbps speed

New customers who take up its XL cable broadband service will get faster download speeds of up to 30Mbps, Virgin Media said.

Existing 20Mb XL customers can also move to the new service by paying one off £30 fee towards activation and new Super-hub wireless router modem charges, the ISP said. more »

O2 Mobile broadband UK has revealed new investment plans to boost its network coverage and capacity, aiming to deliver better service to its data customers.

Under a three year deal, Telecom giant, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will provide its radio technology and hardware solutions to Telefonica O2 UK to help enhance  the quality of its 3G mobile network infrastructure across the UK. more »

Sky broadband quarterly net customer growth doubles YoY

British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) said its latest quarterly broadband net additions of 204,000 were the highest for the last two years.

The latest figures show Sky broadband net customer growth has also doubled in the three month period that ended on 31st December 2010, year on year basis. Sky made 101,000 net additions during the corresponding period in the previous year (2009). more »

TalkTalk to offer 12 months broadband contracts

New customers who are joining TalkTalk broadband and phone bundles will have 12 month contracts instead of longer 18 months, it has been announced.

The 6 months half price broadband deal which is about to end on 31st January will also allow new ‘Essentials‘ customers to pay just £3.49 per month for six months and £6.99 per month after that. more »
