PlusNet launches 40Mbps Fibre broadband packages
Home broadband and phone provider PlusNet will offer PlusNet Fibre broadband packages that will deliver download speeds of up to 40Mbps.
During the fibre based (Fibre to the cabinet) broadband trials, users’ access speeds went up to 30Mbps or more, the ISP said.
The fast speeds will help PlusNet customers to get the most out of video sites like iPlayer, YouTube, catch-up TV, high definition videos, social networking, video chat and online games.
Jamie Ford, Plusnet Chief Executive Officer commented:
“Plusnet Fibre is the next generation of broadband and 96 per cent of our trialists say they would recommend the service to friends. This will really benefit households where there are several users and with increased speeds, it makes it possible to download a 30 minute TV show in less time than it takes to make the cup of tea to enjoy with it as you sit down to watch.”
PlusNet customers will get two Fibre broadband packages to choose:
PlusNet Fibre Value comes with 40Mbps speeds, 40GB monthly usage allowance, free wireless router and 18 month contract and will cost £16.49 per month.
PlusNet Fibre Extra package will offer 40Mbps download speed, 120GB monthly usage allowance, free wireless router and will cost £21.49 per month on a 18 month contract.
