TalkTalk broadband loses 43k customers in Q4 2011

TalkTalk broadband and phone customer base has declined to 4,079,000, losing more than 43k customers in the quarterly period that ended on 31st December 2011.

The internet provider’s subscriptions have been undergoing sharp decline in the last few quarters, after the firm was hit by customer satisfaction issues such as incorrect billing etc.

However, the cheaper broadband offerings (LLU) have helped the ISP to add more than 63k customers in the latest quarter.

Along with this, the increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) has helped the broadband revenues to increase from £307m in Q3 to £312m in Q4.

The broadband and phone provider is also planning to launch its own IPTV and offer improved mobile services in the coming quarters.

“Our operational achievements and strong financial performance give us confidence as we look ahead to delivering an exciting strategic agenda through 2012, including the launch of our TV proposition.” Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk has commented.
