The Cloud to offer free wi-fi broadband in 23 railway stations
First Great Western Station and public hotspot operator The Cloud have joined together to enable 23 stations with free wi-fi internet access, it has been reported.
Using wireless broadband, train passengers can connect to the web on their mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones in waiting rooms, on platforms and concourses.
Initially, the service will launch in Ealing Broadway, Oxford and Maidenhead stations by March 2012. Reading, Bristol and Bath are among the ten stations that would get access to The Clolud wi-fi service later.
Wi-fi has become hugely popular with commuters, especially those who want to pass the time during their journey, according to Robert Jackson, Contracts Manager at First Great Western Station.
“This deal with The Cloud enhances the Wi-Fi network at those stations and extends it across many other busy stations, improving the service we provide to millions of passengers every year.” he said.
Wi-Fi broadband offers stabler connection and faster speeds to the users while traveling across the country, says Vince Russell, Managing Director at The Cloud,
“This new deal with First Great Western will mean millions of extra travellers will benefit from The Cloud’s Wi-Fi service.” he said.
