Netgear launches two wi-fi based broadband routers that will help the users to share a single 3G/4G mobile broadband connection. The new routers will help the people to go online, when traditional broadband services like cable, ADSL or satellite are unavailable in their areas.
To share a mobile broadband connection, an external modem with 3G or 4G or WiMAX compatibility needs to be connected to the routers which immediately create a wi-fi network. Multiple wi-fi enabled devices like laptop, desktop PC, game consoles and iPod touch can send and receive internet data within the wi-fi coverage area.
Wireless-N Router (MBRN3000) comes with 802.11n features and 3G/4G/WiMAX compatibility.
Another router, Netgear DGN2200M DSL Modem – Mobile Broadband Edition comes with an additional ADSL2+ modem. It is also wireless N router and can enable DSL connectivity along with a 3G/4G/WiMAX failover option.
Netgear MBRN3000 wireless N router, priced at $149, will hit the market in March. Netgear will rollout the DGN2200M router for $179 a month later.
