BT Wholesale to cut 24Mbps broadband prices

BT Wholesale, the business arm of BT Group that sells voice and internet services to UK ISPs, would reduce the wholesale prices of its 24Mb broadband products from January, 2010, according to a report.

The line rental would be same in all areas, at £5.88 per month (previously £7.66 per month).

Monthly bandwidth charge on BT’s WBC platform will slash from £79.34 to £40.00.

Broadband customers who live in market 1 and market 2 areas will see the broadband cost coming down by 29%. Market 1 represents areas which are mostly covered by BT broadband.

Market 3 is represented by areas where customers get access to more broadband service providers, more competitive services and the new prices would benefit the customers in market 3 with a over-all 14 per cent drop in prices.

Earlier, BT revealed its plans to bring its up to 24Mbps ADSL Max (ADSL 2+) broadband to 20 million homes in UK by 2011.
