This selector is a buying guide rather than a speed guarantee. Package availability, estimated speed and the minimum guaranteed speed depend on your home and access network.

Sky broadband packages explained

Sky Superfast is suitable for light internet use in areas where full fibre has not reached the home. Full Fibre 75 is suitable for one or two people who mainly browse, stream and make video calls.

Full Fibre 100 offers slightly more capacity than Full Fibre 75, although availability depends on the network serving the premises. Full Fibre 150 offers the best balance of price and bandwidth for many typical households.

Full Fibre 300 is suitable for busy multi-device homes that regularly stream in 4K, play online games and make simultaneous video calls. Full Fibre 500 is better for larger households using several devices for gaming, 4K streaming and home working.

Full Fibre Gigafast gives heavy-use homes Sky’s fastest widely available Openreach full-fibre connection. The 2.5 Gigafast+ and 5 Gigafast+ packages offer equal download and upload speeds in selected CityFibre areas, but most households will not need that much bandwidth.

Part-fibre and full-fibre speeds

Sky uses the Openreach and CityFibre networks. Openreach and CityFibre versions of the same package can have different upload speeds, so the table lists them separately.

Sky Superfast Openreach part fibre 67Mbps / 16Mbps

Sky broadband and TV deals

Sky broadband can be combined with Sky Stream, Sky Glass and optional television packages. A bundle can cost less than ordering the services separately, but customers should compare the full contract cost and the minimum term for each service.

Sky Stream deals

Sky Stream delivers live television, on-demand programmes and streaming apps through a small puck connected to the television. It uses the broadband connection and does not require a satellite dish.

Essential TV includes a selection of Sky channels and Netflix. Ultimate TV adds more entertainment channels and streaming services. Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Kids and Ultra HD can be added to eligible bundles.

Broadband and TV package Average speed Starting price Choice voucher
Gigafast with Essential TV and Netflix 900Mbps £35 a month £70
Full Fibre 300 with Ultimate TV and Netflix 300Mbps £41 a month £70
Full Fibre 75 with Sky Sports, Essential TV and Netflix 75Mbps £52 a month £70
Full Fibre 300 with Sky Sports, Essential TV and Netflix 300Mbps £52 a month £70

The included channels, streaming services and voucher value depend on the selected bundle. Check whether Netflix, HD, Ultra HD or additional Sky Stream pucks add to the monthly charge.

Sky Stream uses the home broadband connection. Households planning to watch several simultaneous 4K streams should select a broadband package with enough bandwidth for television and other internet use.

Sky Glass deals

Sky Glass combines a television, speakers and the Sky streaming platform. It receives television through broadband and does not require a satellite dish.

The range includes Sky Glass Air and Sky Glass Gen 2 in several screen sizes. The television payment and Sky TV subscription are normally separate unless a particular offer combines them.

A Sky Glass deal should be compared using:

  • Television payment
  • Upfront charge
  • Sky TV subscription
  • Broadband package
  • Included streaming services
  • Minimum contract period
  • Total cost over the television payment period

Payments for the television can continue after the broadband or Sky TV minimum term has ended. Check each contract period and the total amount payable before ordering.

Sky Sports and Cinema deals

Sky Sports and Sky Cinema can be added to selected Stream and Glass packages. Sports bundles include Sky’s main sports channels, while Cinema packages add the Sky Cinema channels and related streaming benefits.

Television promotions change regularly. Check the current bundle price and whether HD, Ultra HD or additional Sky Stream pucks add further monthly charges.

Sky Talk and broadband deals

Sky Talk adds a home phone service to an eligible Sky broadband package. Customers can keep their existing telephone number in most cases, subject to the number-transfer process completing successfully.

New full-fibre customers normally receive Sky Talk Internet Calls. The home phone connects to the telephone socket on the Sky hub rather than a traditional wall socket, and calls travel through the broadband connection.

Sky Talk call options

Sky Talk option Included calls
Pay As You Talk Calls are charged according to Sky’s current call rates
Evenings and Weekends Extra Inclusive UK landline and mobile calls during the stated evening and weekend periods
Anytime Extra Inclusive UK landline and mobile calls at any time
International Extra Inclusive calls to selected international destinations

Call-plan charges and inclusive destinations can change, so customers should check the current call allowance before adding Sky Talk to a broadband order.

Internet Calls and power cuts

Sky Talk Internet Calls requires a working broadband connection and mains power. The home phone will not operate during a power cut or broadband outage unless suitable backup equipment is available.

Customers who rely on a landline for emergency calls, a care alarm or other essential equipment should explain this requirement when ordering. Some older alarms, fax machines and telephone devices are not compatible with an internet-based phone service.

Sky broadband deals FAQs

Can I claim a Sky voucher and switching credit together?

Yes. The choice voucher and switching credit are separate incentives. Customers who meet the conditions for both offers can claim both.

Sky offers switching credit of up to £200 for broadband, up to £100 for television or up to £300 when switching both services. The exact amount cannot exceed the eligible early termination charge from the previous provider.

You must pay the previous provider’s charge first and then send Sky a copy of the final bill and evidence of payment. The claim must be submitted within 90 days of the Sky service being activated.

Approved switching credit is added to the Sky account rather than paid as cash.

Do existing Sky customers qualify for broadband vouchers?

New-customer vouchers are not normally available to existing Sky broadband customers. The voucher shown with a deal only applies when the order meets the eligibility conditions attached to that offer.

Existing customers should sign in with their Sky ID to check personalised renewal and speed-upgrade deals. The available price depends on the current package, contract status and broadband network serving the home.

Before accepting a renewal, compare the monthly price, new minimum term, broadband speed, router, WiFi Max charge and any television or call-plan additions. A speed upgrade or renewal normally starts a new minimum term.

A faster package does not automatically include a new router. Sky supplies replacement equipment when the existing hub is not compatible with the upgraded service.

When and how is a Sky broadband voucher claimed?

Order an eligible package through the tracked deal link and provide a valid email address. The broadband service must then be installed and activated before the reward is issued.

The voucher can take up to 120 days to arrive. Check the email address used for the order, including its spam or junk folder, and complete the claim or activation within the stated 90-day deadline.

The reward can usually be selected as a Giftcloud Mastercard or a gift card for participating retailers. Options can include Tesco, M&S, John Lewis, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Argos, Tu, Habitat and Currys.

The voucher can be lost if the order is cancelled, the broadband service does not activate or the purchase is not completed through the eligible link. Keep the original order confirmation until the reward has arrived.

Does Sky charge for broadband setup and installation?

Selected Sky broadband deals include free setup. Sky takes a £5 payment when the order is placed and deducts it from the first bill.

A home with a compatible full-fibre optical network terminal can usually receive a remote activation. Sky sends the required router and confirms the date on which the service will become active.

A new full-fibre connection requires an engineer to bring fibre into the premises and install an optical network terminal. The Sky router then connects to this terminal using an Ethernet cable.

Installation can take longer in flats, rented homes and buildings with shared access areas. Tenants should obtain permission before any work involving drilling, external cabling or new equipment.

Sky supplies routers, Wi-Fi pods and Stream pucks on loan. The equipment must be returned when requested after cancellation or a package change. Non-return charges can apply.

Why do Sky deals and speeds differ by postcode?

Sky uses Openreach and CityFibre, and the network connected to the home determines the available packages, upload speeds and installation requirements. Availability can differ between neighbouring premises.

Sky Superfast part-fibre broadband reaches 95% of UK homes, while standard full fibre reaches 79%. G.fast Ultrafast is available to 6% of homes, and the 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps Gigafast+ services reach 12%.

Openreach supplies most standard Sky full-fibre connections. CityFibre enables packages with upload speeds equal to their download speeds, including Sky’s 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps services in selected areas.

The postcode checker confirms the available packages, access network, average download speed, upload speed, setup requirements, monthly price, voucher and television bundle options for the premises.

Return to the postcode checker and compare Sky deals available at your home.

Can the Sky broadband price change during the contract?

Yes. Sky broadband deals normally come with a 24-month minimum term, but the monthly charge can change during that period.

After the minimum term, the monthly charge becomes the price immediately before the contract ends, plus £5 a month. Customers should compare the estimated contract cost rather than relying only on the starting monthly price.

A voucher reduces the effective cost of the deal but does not reduce the amount shown on the monthly Sky bill or prevent later price changes.
