Vodafone TV and SuperMobile 5G+ Plans Arrive in UK

VodafoneThree has announced two products that bring its mobile, broadband and entertainment services closer together.

Vodafone SuperMobile is available immediately, giving eligible mobile customers paid access to enhanced performance through Vodafone’s 5G+ FastTrack. Vodafone TV will follow in October with live television, streaming, cloud gaming and Android apps delivered through a compact set-top box.

SuperMobile is not a replacement for Vodafone’s 5G home broadband service. It is a premium pay-monthly mobile option for handset and SIM-only customers. Vodafone TV, by comparison, can be added to eligible fixed broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile packages.

FastTrack cuts through mobile congestion

SuperMobile uses Vodafone’s 5G Standalone network, which the company calls 5G+. Unlike earlier 5G services that rely partly on 4G infrastructure, 5G Standalone uses a dedicated 5G core network.

This technology allows Vodafone to divide network resources into separate virtual sections. Its FastTrack feature gives eligible SuperMobile data priority when many devices are trying to connect at the same time.

Busy railway stations, festivals, stadiums, airports and city centres are likely to show the greatest benefit. Mobile speeds can fall sharply in these places because hundreds or thousands of devices compete for capacity from the same network site.

SuperMobile customers do not need to activate FastTrack manually. The feature switches on automatically when the customer has an eligible plan, compatible SIM, suitable handset and access to a FastTrack-enabled area.

Four-times speeds carry a 600GB limit

SuperMobile offers speeds up to four times faster than Vodafone’s standard mobile plans while connected to 5G+ FastTrack in high-demand areas.

Outside FastTrack coverage, customers can receive speeds up to twice as fast on 4G or conventional 5G compared with Vodafone’s standard plans.

These are maximum comparative figures rather than speeds available at every location. Performance varies according to local coverage, network congestion, the handset, indoor signal conditions and available spectrum.

FastTrack priority applies to the first 600GB of data used during each billing month. Customers who pass that limit can continue using their monthly data, but the enhanced network treatment stops until the next billing period begins.

A 5G+ icon on the phone does not necessarily confirm a FastTrack connection. Customers must use Vodafone’s network checker to confirm whether the enhanced service is available in a particular area.

SuperMobile starts at £3 extra

Contract customers can obtain SuperMobile through several mobile plan options:

• £3 more per month than a full-speed Xtra plan
• £8 more than a 100Mbps SIM-only plan
• £4 more than a 100Mbps handset plan
• £12 as a separate rolling monthly add-on

The exact features vary between a SuperMobile plan and the standalone add-on. Customers therefore need to check the included benefits before upgrading.

SuperMobile plans include Secure Net Mobile for the duration of the minimum contract. The security service blocks malicious websites and malware at network level and includes identity monitoring, scam-call protection and parental controls.

Secure Net Mobile is not included with the separate £12 SuperMobile add-on.

Conditions behind the 15Mbps promise

Eligible SuperMobile plans include a minimum download-speed commitment of 15Mbps while the customer is connected to 5G+ FastTrack.

The commitment does not apply across every Vodafone connection. The customer must be in a FastTrack-enabled area and use an eligible handset, compatible SIM and appropriate device settings.

Customers who experience speeds below 15Mbps can ask Vodafone to investigate. The assessment can involve several approved speed tests on different days, together with details about the location, handset, SIM and signal.

Vodafone then has up to 30 days to investigate and correct a confirmed problem. If the connection still fails to reach the applicable minimum speed, an eligible customer can leave the associated airtime agreement without paying an early termination charge.

This right does not cancel a separate handset finance agreement. The customer must continue paying for the device unless its own agreement states otherwise.

Customers who purchase SuperMobile as the £12 monthly add-on receive a more limited remedy. They can cancel the add-on if Vodafone confirms an unresolved speed problem, but they cannot leave their underlying airtime agreement without a fee.

Vodafone claims no other mobile operator worldwide combines a specific 15Mbps minimum download speed with an ongoing contractual right to leave the airtime plan without an early termination charge.

Television beyond fixed broadband

Vodafone TV will become available in October 2026 to new and existing customers taking an eligible home broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile package.

Allowing mobile customers to obtain the service separates it from UK television packages that require fixed broadband from the same provider. A Vodafone fixed line will not be essential, although the television hub will still need a reliable internet connection.

Initial eligibility information refers to qualifying 24-month Vodafone broadband or mobile plans. Complete package conditions have not yet been released.

Vodafone has also not confirmed the monthly TV price, installation cost or complete channel list. Customers can currently register their interest ahead of the October release.

Channels arrive through the internet

Vodafone TV uses an internet connection for live and on-demand television, so customers will not need a satellite dish or television aerial.

Freely supplies more than 70 internet-delivered channels and on-demand programmes from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and other broadcasters. More than 150 additional live channels take the complete service beyond 200 channels.

The package includes Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads. Customers who want an advert-free package or a different streaming plan will need to check the upgrade options and additional cost.

Other subscriptions can be added through Vodafone Subscription+ on a 30-day rolling basis. Available services include Disney+, Prime, DAZN, Spotify and YouTube Premium, with separate charges applying.

Vodafone Box Office will let viewers rent or buy recent films and television programmes directly through the hub.

More than 300 games without a console

More than 300 cloud games are included without the need for a games console. The games run on remote servers and stream to the television over the internet.

Customers can use a compatible Bluetooth controller or turn a smartphone into a gamepad. Cloud gaming relies on a consistent connection with low latency, so performance will vary with broadband quality and local Wi-Fi conditions.

Thousands of additional entertainment, music and utility apps will be available through the Google Play Store. This gives the box many of the functions already found on Android TV streaming devices.

Netgem powers the hub

Netgem will supply the PLEIO entertainment platform and manage the daily operation of Vodafone TV under a multi-year agreement. Its role includes content provision, streaming technology, cloud gaming and programme discovery.

The platform brings channels, streaming applications, rentals and games into a single interface. Its AI-assisted search can look across the complete catalogue instead of searching one application at a time.

Personalised recommendations will use each viewer’s profile, viewing history and favourites. Google Assistant also allows customers to find programmes using voice commands.

The compact Android TV hub has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It can display 4K content and play Dolby Vision video and Dolby Atmos audio when the television and selected programme are compatible.

Technical details identify the TV 4 Mini as a ZTE ZXV10 B866V6N4 VF. It uses Android TV 14 and an Amlogic S905X5M processor.

A companion application for Android and iOS will carry profiles, recommendations, favourites and gameplay between the television and smartphone. Viewers can begin selected programmes at home and continue watching away from the television, although content rights will restrict this feature on some channels and programmes.

Dedicated 5G+ capacity for businesses

Vodafone is also introducing SuperMobile packages for small firms and larger organisations.

Its National Business Slice gives business data dedicated capacity separate from general consumer demand. The service is available across eligible parts of Vodafone’s 5G+ network and can improve access to cloud applications, video calls and mobile payment systems in congested areas.

A National Critical Slice is planned for 2027. This service will give blue-light organisations and other critical public services priority connectivity for time-sensitive communications.

Vodafone already offers Local Slicing for specific venues and business premises. These private network sections can operate within a defined area of up to five square kilometres, including stadiums, universities, transport hubs and logistics sites.

£11bn investment reaches mobile users

The new products form part of VodafoneThree’s £11bn network investment following the completion of the Vodafone and Three merger in June 2025.

VodafoneThree has increased its 5G+ population coverage from 46% to 60% during the past year. It plans to reach 99% of the UK population by 2030 and 99.96% by 2034.

The combined company refers to its infrastructure as the Nation’s Network. Its claim to operate the UK’s biggest mobile network is based on the total number of Vodafone and Three network sites available to customers.

Combining sites and spectrum has also removed 16,500 square kilometres of previous network not-spots. SuperMobile gives Vodafone a separate paid product through which customers can access some of the additional capacity created by that investment.

Vodafone joins EE in paid 5G+ priority

Vodafone is not the first UK operator to offer network slicing to individual mobile customers.

EE introduced Fast Lane on 20 August 2026 as part of its Full Works Plus handset plan. It costs £5 more than EE’s Full Works plan and requires a compatible device, SIM and access to EE 5G+ coverage.

Vodafone followed two weeks later with more purchasing options. Its main differences include the 15Mbps minimum-speed commitment, Secure Net Mobile on eligible contracted plans and access through selected SIM-only packages.

Both products focus on maintaining mobile performance in crowded places rather than increasing speeds across every connection.

Paid 5G+ priority and net neutrality

Charging customers for preferential mobile performance raises questions about the equal treatment of internet traffic, but premium connectivity does not automatically breach UK net-neutrality rules.

Ofcom revised its guidance in 2023 to allow broadband and mobile companies to offer premium-quality retail packages, including services with lower latency or enhanced performance. Providers can also use proportionate traffic management to deal with congestion.

Companies must explain the service clearly and continue following rules that protect access to the open internet. Ofcom monitors these requirements through its regular net-neutrality reports.

Vodafone has not announced any reduction in the speeds available through its standard plans. SuperMobile instead adds enhanced treatment for eligible traffic when competing demand places pressure on the network.

October launch comes without a confirmed price

SuperMobile customers now know the additional monthly cost, technical requirements and limits attached to FastTrack. Its greatest benefit will come in busy locations with Vodafone 5G+ coverage.

Vodafone TV has more unanswered details. Monthly prices, installation charges, package variations and the complete channel range will determine its value when orders open in October.

The ability to combine TV with fixed broadband, 5G Broadband or a mobile plan gives Vodafone greater flexibility than television services restricted to one provider’s fixed line. Its success will depend on competitive pricing and whether customers value having live channels, streaming subscriptions, apps and cloud gaming within one interface
