Fibrus does not raise prices mid-contract. The package price is fixed for the length of your agreement, which is usually 24 months, although 12-month options are sometimes available.

Fibrus router and Wi-Fi coverage

Fibrus broadband customers get an Amazon eero router with their plan. The type of router depends on the package:

• eero 6+ is supplied on the 100Mbps, 150Mbps and 500Mbps plans (two units on the 500 plan)
• eero Pro 6E is supplied on the 1000Mbps and 2000Mbps plans (two units included)

The eero 6+ supports WiFi 6, and is suitable for homes with up to 75 connected devices. The eero Pro 6E adds support for 6GHz WiFi and includes a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.

Customers can control their network using the eero app, which allows you to:

• Set up family profiles with scheduled pauses

• Monitor devices and traffic in real-time

On the Full Fibre 500 plan and above, customers benefit from a Total Home Wi-Fi guarantee. This promises speeds of at least 10Mbps in every room of the home, subject to conditions.

If the customer doesn’t receive these speeds even after extra hardware and an engineer visit, they can cancel their contract without penalty, although they’ll still pay for the service they’ve used.

Note: using your own router for a static IP can affect how the phone service works. Fibrus recommends using a dedicated VoIP handset if you go this route.

Installation and what to expect

If you’re ordering Fibrus broadband on their own network, installation usually takes around 10 days. The engineer will:

• Run a fibre cable to your home
• Mount a small ONT box on the inside wall
• Connect it to your eero router via Ethernet
• Test your broadband connection before leaving

Customers should ensure they have at least two power sockets near where the router and ONT will be placed. If you’re also using the phone service, you’ll need a third socket.

In Openreach areas (off-net), the process may take longer – typically a 14-day lead time. If your home already has an ONT, activation may be done remotely, and your equipment will be posted to you along with setup instructions.

The eero 6+ has two Ethernet ports, but one is used by the ONT. If you need to connect multiple wired devices, you may want to add a low-cost Ethernet switch.

Complaints and customer service

Fibrus has a UK-based customer support team and handles complaints internally first.

If your issue remains unresolved after eight weeks, or if you reach a deadlock earlier, you can escalate the matter to the Communications Ombudsman, which Fibrus is a member of.

The provider’s terms and conditions also outline key charges such as:

• Fees for non-fault engineer visits
