Fast, affordable broadband is not available for rural users

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) says both homes and businesses do not get desired speeds in some rural areas in UK, including Coggeshall as the broadband network in North Essex does not support high-speeds.

Households and businesses in these areas just cannot use broadband internet to meet their daily communication needs, it was reported.

The CLA has given its response to Cisco broadband survey which claims, UK broadband, as of today, has adequate infrastructure to meet the over-all needs of internet users in Britain.

Nichola Currie, the CLA’s eastern region director, said:

“Every county in this region has areas where fast, affordable broadband is simply unavailable.”

Gazette-news.co.uk quoted a spokesman for Coggeshall tourist attraction Marks Hall Gardens & Arboretum as saying:

“It might not be as fast as elsewhere and it can be irritating at times, but if you don’t know any different you don’t mind.”

CLA has further notified an email address – eastern@cla.org.uk to let the users living in ‘slow-speed’ areas to come with their problems related to broadband connectivity.
