Sky Sports Multiview Launches on Glass, Stream and Q

Sky will introduce a new television feature that lets Sky Sports subscribers watch as many as four live events simultaneously on one screen. Your Multiview launches on 21 August 2026 across Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q.

The feature arrives as the 2026/27 Premier League season begins, but it will not be limited to Premier League matches. Sky says viewers will be able to combine available live events from competitions including the EFL, Scottish Premiership and Women’s Super League, alongside Formula 1, cricket, tennis, golf, NFL and rugby.

Instead of moving repeatedly between channels, subscribers can keep several events visible and choose which commentary they hear. Selecting one event can give it greater prominence within the layout, while viewers can also move any of the feeds into full-screen mode.

Multiview controls remain with the viewer

Your Multiview differs from a fixed broadcast containing several pictures because customers can choose from the eligible live Sky Sports events available at that time.

Up to four events can appear side by side, although customers do not have to fill every available section of the screen. The spotlight control changes the layout to emphasise a selected event, while the audio selector determines which commentary is played.

The full-screen option means a viewer can concentrate on one event when an important moment is approaching, then return to the multiple-event display afterwards.

This could be useful during weekends when Premier League and EFL matches overlap with Formula 1, cricket or golf. Its value will depend on the number of eligible events being broadcast at the same time and which feeds Sky makes available through the feature.

Sky has confirmed that Your Multiview will be available on Glass, Stream and Sky Q. It has not specified whether customers will need a particular version of Sky Q hardware or whether the feature will reach every compatible device at precisely the same time on launch day.

Broadband requirements remain unclear

Sky Glass and Sky Stream deliver television over an internet connection, making broadband performance particularly important for customers using either service. Sky Q receives its principal television channels by satellite, although connected features and additional streams can still require broadband.

Sky has not published a separate minimum broadband speed for Your Multiview. It has also not explained whether the device receives four independent video feeds or a single combined feed prepared by Sky.

It would therefore be misleading to multiply Sky’s normal HD recommendation by four and present the result as the required speed. The bandwidth used could depend on how Sky delivers and encodes the Multiview presentation.

Sky currently recommends:

  • 25Mbps for HD streaming
  • 30Mbps for Ultra HD streaming
  • 40Mbps for its reduced-delay Real Time service

These figures are Sky’s general recommendations for its streaming and Real Time services, not confirmed requirements for Your Multiview.

Customers using Sky Glass or Sky Stream should also consider other internet activity in the home. Large downloads, several simultaneous video streams or weak Wi-Fi near the television can reduce the bandwidth available to the Sky device.

A wired Ethernet connection may provide more consistent performance where the router and television equipment are close enough, but Sky has not stated that Ethernet will be required.

Sports Hub and Real Time receive wider availability

Your Multiview forms part of a broader group of Sky Sports updates for the 2026/27 season.

Sports Hub places live scores, statistics, league tables, schedules, highlights and short videos beside the event being watched. Viewers can use it to open another game, start Recap or move into Your Multiview.

Sports Hub will be continuously available through Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Football. Sky also plans to provide it during selected live broadcasts on other channels. It will be accessible through Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q.

A Clips section within Sports Hub will provide an autoplay feed of short sports videos. These can include news, highlights and important moments from different teams and competitions.

Sky is also extending Real Time to Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports+ and Sky Sports Premier League on Glass and Stream. Real Time reduces the delay between the live event and the picture reaching internet-connected viewers, which can help prevent television coverage falling significantly behind mobile alerts or nearby viewers using another platform.

The Real Time channels will be available at EPG numbers 922, 923 and 925 on Sky Glass and Sky Stream. Sky Q is not included in this expansion.

Other changes include an updated Live Sports Rail for finding current and forthcoming events, Team Pages that bring together content associated with a selected club, and Moments in the Sky Sports mobile app. Moments will provide a personalised vertical feed containing highlights, interviews, analysis and behind-the-scenes videos.

NOW will receive separate sports features

NOW Sports members are also due to receive Multiview during the 2026/27 season, alongside a Key Plays function for revisiting important moments without leaving the live stream.

Sky has not given an exact release date for the NOW version or confirmed whether its controls and event limit will be identical to Your Multiview on Sky Glass, Stream and Q. This should therefore be treated as a separate planned introduction rather than part of the confirmed 21 August launch.

Sky Sports currently costs from £22 extra

Sky Sports Complete is currently available from £22 per month when added to a qualifying Sky TV package. The offer comes with a new 24-month Sky TV minimum term.

For new Sky Stream customers, Sky currently offers Essential TV, Netflix and Sky Sports from £35 per month on a 24-month contract. Prices may change during the minimum term.

After the introductory minimum term, the current standard Sky Sports price is £35 extra per month for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, or £38 extra for Sky Q customers. Existing subscribers may receive different personalised prices depending on their package and contract.

Sky’s current Sky Sports terms state that the £22 offer is not available with another offer or to customers who already subscribe to Sky Sports.

Your Multiview adds a useful option for households that regularly encounter overlapping fixtures. The spotlight, audio and full-screen controls should make the four-event display more practical than a fixed grid, particularly during busy football and motorsport weekends. However, Sky still needs to clarify its dedicated broadband guidance, exact feed availability and any device-specific eligibility conditions.

Sky TV and broadband options

Sky TV is a subscription service offering entertainment, films, sport, children’s channels and streaming apps. Customers can combine it with Sky Broadband or order Sky TV separately and use another provider’s internet connection. Sky Glass and Sky Stream deliver television over broadband, while Sky Q uses satellite for its main broadcasts.

We provide a postcode checker for finding Sky broadband and TV deals available at your address. You can compare current packages, broadband speeds, monthly prices, contract lengths, setup costs and in-contract price changes before ordering.
