Vodafone expands reach with Community Fibre in London

August 29, 2025

Vodafone’s fibre broadband is now available across Community Fibre’s full fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, covering over half a million additional homes in London. This latest expansion gives Vodafone a wider reach across the capital and allows more homes to take advantage of its fastest broadband packages with download and upload speeds of up to 2.2Gbps.

Community Fibre and Vodafone

Until now, Vodafone’s fixed-line broadband has mainly been available through Openreach and CityFibre. While CityFibre covers towns and cities across the UK, it hasn’t built any FTTP network in London. That meant Vodafone’s fibre broadband options in the capital were limited, with many homes only able to access it through Openreach.

Community Fibre now fills that gap, offering Vodafone access to a large full fibre footprint of over 1.5 million premises. Vodafone has confirmed the initial phase of this rollout will add around 550,000 new households where Community Fibre operates independently of Openreach.

With this new partnership in place, Vodafone says its full fibre network now covers over 21.5 million homes nationwide.

What packages are available?

Vodafone full fibre broadband packages on Community Fibre are priced in line with its existing CityFibre deals and offer a similar choice of speeds, including symmetric broadband. Entry-level packages include symmetric 150Mbps speeds, while top-tier plans go up to 2.2Gbps.

A standard WiFi router and free installation are included as part of the package. Customers can also choose to upgrade with Vodafone’s Pro 3 add-on, which includes extras such as:

  • A WiFi 7-enabled router
  • Whole home mesh WiFi
  • 4G backup
  • Internet security features
  • Enhanced support

Like many major providers, Vodafone applies an annual price rise of £3 per month each April to all broadband plans.

Offers for existing Vodafone mobile customers

Vodafone mobile customers can benefit from a monthly discount of up to £4 when they take broadband. There’s also a £75 bill credit available for mobile customers who sign up to a broadband plan on the Community Fibre network.

Bottom line

Vodafone’s arrival on Community Fibre’s network gives households in the capital more choice when it comes to gigabit broadband. With speeds up to 2.2Gbps available, it’s one of the fastest connections currently offered by a major UK broadband provider. The addition of symmetric upload speeds also puts it on par with Community Fibre’s own plans and helps Vodafone stand out from other Openreach-based providers like BT, Sky and Plusnet.

Meanwhile, Community Fibre has recently launched a new international roaming eSIM for mobile data. The service supports 4G and 5G networks and works in over 160 countries. Customers can use it to stay connected abroad, whether travelling for work or holidays.

The eSIM can be used in addition to an existing SIM and phone number and supports tethering and mobile hotspot use. There’s no contract, and users can top up at any time — even when they’re offline.

Community Fibre’s eSIM is managed through a dedicated app available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Through the app, customers can choose how much data they need and how long they need it for. Plans are prepaid, and there’s no commitment beyond the data allowance selected.

Community Fibre say customers can save up to 96% on roaming charges compared to using standard UK mobile tariffs abroad. They give an example of a 1GB data plan for the USA priced at £2.29 for 7 days, compared to Vodafone’s daily roaming rate of £7.86.
