British Sky Broadband (BSkyB) or Sky offers broadband as a part of its so called Sky bundles that include its Sky Digital TV, broadband and home phone services. Remember, you cannot get Sky broadband or phone service without subscribing to any one of the Sky’s digital TV packages.

Sky’s digital TV network is available for every home (99% coverage) in UK. After sign up, you will get a dish and Sky box to receive Sky TV channels.

Sky +HD box enables you to watch Sky’s high definition channels on your plasma or LCD TV sets. Installation of Sky+HD box will cost £79 and you will also need to pay £9.75 a month extra to receive Sky’s HD service.

There are two Sky Talk packages that offer free evening & weekend calls or unlimited calls for £5 a month extra. Sky line rental of £10 per month is extra.

Sky broadband offers 2MB, 10MB and 20MB speeds. As for the usage allowances, 2GB, 40GB and unlimited downloads are available.

Currently, Sky broadband has a network coverage (LLU) of more than 70% in UK. If you are a Sky customer living within its broadband network area (LLU), then Sky offers you its entry level broadband package, Sky Base, absolutely free. However, if you live outside its coverage area, you can still get it by paying just £5 per month.
