Ofcom complaints report reveals the UK broadband providers’ performance

TalkTalk and BT emerged as the worst broadband providers in Q4 2017 in terms of customer complaints received by the UK telecom regulator Ofcom, the latest study shows.

Similar research on home phone complaints by the telecom regulator also revealed that TalkTalk had the largest volume of landline service complaints, followed by Plusnet and Post Office in this sector.

Mobile complaints for BT soared in the latest quarter making it the worst mobile operator with the largest volume of complaints. Vodafone came second, followed by Virgin Media.

BT TV again received the highest volume of customer complaints in the last quarter of 2017 , while TalkTalk TV complaints also increased during the same period.

The volume of broadband related complaints was the least for Sky while EE was close to Sky, with low volume of customer complaints. Virgin Media broadband complaints were also quite below the industry average of 19 complaints per 100,000 customers.

In home phone sector, again Sky and EE were the best performers with the least volume of complaints. Virgin Media too managed to contain the complaints volume below the industry average of 14 complaints per 100,000 customers.

O2 and Three UK were the best mobile operators as they had complaints volume which was well below the industry average of 5 complaints per 100,000 customers.

Sky TV again offered the best service to its customers as it received the least volume of complaints in Q4 2017.
